| The Ansche Chesed Outings Group, based at Congregation Ansche Chesed (an egalitarian Conservative Jewish congregation in New York City), is a group that organizes "outings" such as hiking, rafting, canoeing, ice skating, bicycling as well as "innings" such as Square, Ballroom, Swing, Rock-n-Roll and Klezmer Dances. Hiking - Sunday, April 25 - Johnsontown Road - Lake Sebago Circular - New hike! A new (for the Outings Group) route but otherwise a classic hike in Harriman State Park with a series of nice views along this 7 miles (4+ hours) hike on terrain of moderate difficulty (about 800'+ total elevation gain). Bring hiking boots (required), lunch, water, daypack, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, money, etc. Co-sponsored with the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of Greater New York. Cost is $10 ($5 AC/Mosaic members). Limited to 30 people. Telephone reservations required by 6:00pm Monday, April 19. Contact Michael (212/678-7881 before 9:00pm) to reserve. Rain cancels. Car-pooling. Click here for detailed trip information including driving directions. Memorial Day Weekend - Friday, May 28 - Monday, May 31 - at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires. A fun filled weekend which attracts many people from the Ansche Chesed Outings Group, B'nai Jeshurun, Mosaic, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Chicago, Maryland, Michigan, Florida,... "Highly recommended!" The lower cost early-bird deadlines for reservations are May 1 (lowest cost) and May 16 and all reservations are due by 5:00pm on Tuesday, May 25. This year's Weekend Director will be Michael Brochstein. Please make sure to mention "Ansche Chesed" when you register. Details and reservation forms are available at www.WingdaleUniversity.org.
