Swing Dancing - Sunday evening, January 9, 7:30 - 10:00pm at Ansche Chesed.  No experience necessary.   Expert instruction with Reba Perez starting at 7:30pm alternating with open dancing and additional instruction until 10:00pm. Reba Perez has taught at many places including B'nai Jeshurun and at the Camp Ramah in the Berkshires Memorial Day weekend. Free refreshments. Co-sponsored with Congregation B'nai Jeshurun and the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of Greater New York. Cost is $20 ($15 AC/BJ/MOMC members). No reservations needed. Purim Party Saturday evening, March 11, 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. Last year we had almost 400 people (no exaggeration!) at our wild klezmer dance party celebrating Purim. This year we are featuring two live bands; a klezmer band led by the legendary klezmer musician Andy Statman and a popular rock-n-roll band, Sami Feldman & the Bluesberry Jam. Co-sponsored with Congregation B'nai Jeshurun and the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club of Greater New York. Admission is $20 ($15 AC/BJ/MOMC members, $5 in costume). Memorial Day Weekend Friday, May 26 - Monday, May 29 - at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires. A fun filled weekend which attracts many people from the Ansche Chesed Outings Group and Young Professional's groups.  Highly recommended! The weekend sold out last year! Don't miss out this year. Whitewater Rafting Sunday, June 25 - On the Lehigh River (Class II & III whitewater - it's a dam release day!), Limited to the first 42 paid reservations. Over 60 people wanted to come last year. Special Sukkot Study Session Tuesday, October 17 (8:00 - 9:30pm) in the Ansche Chesed sukkah (251 West 100th Street at the corner of West End Avenue). A Home of One's Own: The Work of Kol Bashechunot with Laura Wharton. Founded by tenants of public housing projects in Israel, NIF grantee Kol Bashechunot (Neighborhood Voice) protects the rights of tenants, and initiates projects in advocacy, education, social justice and community building. In 1999 it lobbied successfully for the passage of the Public Housing Law in Israel. Laura Wharton is one of the founders and directors of Kol Bashechunot. Open House for New and Prospective members of the Mosaic Outdoor Mountain Club
Monday, October 30 at 6:30pm
. A brief presentation will be given about Mosaic and its events. Leaders will be on hand to answer your questions. What do I bring on a hike? How difficult are our hikes? What type of people show up? Ages? Gender? Free Guest cards will be given out that are good for one free event. Kosher pizza dinner follows.. $5 fee for MOMC members includes pizza, soda and snacks. Whether your new to Mosaic or were always curious what you were missing each year please come down for a relaxing and entertaining time.
