Advocacy with Ansche Chesed

Dear Friends,

So much learning and so much advocacy are demanded of us, so that we can be both virtuous Jews and virtuous Americans, advancing the interests and values of our country and our people. As the saying goes, “now, more than ever.” No one political position has all the answers or resolves all questions. For those among our kahal who want to engage in more study and activism, with various perspectives, here are three possibilities for attendance at stellar conferences this winter and spring in Washington, all just a train ride away. I thank AC members Joel Shaiman, Scott Harris and Lisa Sayegh for helping to organize delegations from our shul to these great events. If you’d like to learn more, please contact them, as they write below.

With encouragement,

Jeremy
J Street National Conference
February 25-28, 2017
Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC
http://jstreet.org/conference/
$475

J Street is the political home for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans who want Israel to be secure, democratic and the national home of the Jewish people. Working in American politics and the Jewish community, we advocate for policies that advance shared US and Israeli interests as well as Jewish and democratic values, leading to a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Ansche Chesed members should register as part of the AC delegation using the registration code Ansche17 to receive 20% off all registration fees.

Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC
http://www.policyconference.org/index.asp

AIPAC’s Policy Conference is the largest annual gathering of Pro-Israel advocates in the United States. Throughout the year AIPAC works to educate and empower these advocates on the issues affecting the US-Israel relationship. Working with Members of Congress in an exclusively bipartisan manner, AIPAC advocates are able to, in turn, galvanize lawmakers across the political spectrum to keep these important issues front and center. The year round efforts culminate in the 3 days of Policy Conference, March 26-28, 2017. There is a robust delegation from New York in DC for the conference and opportunities to attend member events here New York are abundant.
