Message from the President |
 |
Just a few years ago, Ansche Chesed emarked on its ambitious
capital campaign. Ably chaired by Shana Roskies and Sheryl Reich,
a host of shul members volunteered to solicit our membership and
together we raised close to two-million dollars. The campaign was
effective because it was also used as a tool in a community
building process. The volunteers came from all the minyanim and
worked together as teams. We learned about each other and our
building’s needs.
To date we have re-pointed the exterior façade and brought it
into compliance with local law, we have fixed the side-walk vault
under Hirsch Hall, have overhauled our elevator and installed a
blessedly quiet air conditioning unit on the fifth floor. Coming
next is necessary roof repair on the fifth floor roof, which will
we believe make the ceiling of the sanctuary water tight, and then
we will address lighting issues in that beautiful space and
ultimately painting the room.
The building committee has a long list of additional projects
that they are prioritizing, and we will keep the community
updated. But now, I want to take the opportunity to celebrate the
members who have completed their campaign pledges, and to thank
those who made one-time gifts during the years of the capital
campaign. We will throughout the year list and acknowledge all
those who have completed their gifts. Your generosity is deeply
appreciated!
-- Josh Hanft
Please see "Capital Campaign" below for a list of those who
have made contributions.

perhaps his deepest, most learned writing.
The class will cover Heschel's main themes: Rabbinic
