Join NYCAC-RIMONIM, Our (free) E-Mail List Server A "list server" is an electronic mail service where an email message sent to the list server is then automatically redistributed to all subscribers to the list server. This allows the rapid distribution of information and news about the minyan as well as the ability for the minyan to carry on an online discussion about topics relevant to the minyan. Minyan Rimonim has its own list server, called NYCAC-RIMONIM. Members of the minyan and those interested in the minyan are invited to "subscribe". Currently, a very large percentage of the minyan has subscribed to the list server. To Subscribe to the NYCAC-RIMONIM List Server Send e-mail to listserv@uscj.org

Why Rimonim? Rimonim is the Hebrew word for pomegranates. The pomegranate is notable for its
beautiful red flowers, shapely fruit, sweet flavor and its prodigious number of seeds.
In the bible, the pomegranate is mentioned as one of the seven species emblematic
of Israel's agricultural fertility. When the Israelite spies surveyed Canaan they
brought back pomegranates to Moses as proof of the land's abundance. In the Song of
Songs, the pomegranate figures prominently in the imagery of love and sensuality and its
color is associated with fire and passion. |
