Join Minyan Rimonim for a relaxing Shavuot Retreat at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires. Camp Ramah is located 75 miles due north of the Ansche Chesed. The retreat will (tentatively) feature a beach party, tikkun leil Shavuot (Sunday night), softball, tennis, nature walks, basketball, swimming, singing, board games, power walking, beach volleyball, massage therapy workshops, star gazing, running, Israeli dancing, New Games, Minyan Rimonim style services, classes, great meals and snacks, beautiful scenery and great people. Limited baby-sitting may be available. Accommodations will include the best that Camp Ramah has to offer (singles and doubles guaranteed to those registering by May 11). Space is limited to about 100 people so please register early.

·         Chartered bus transportation from NYC - The bus will depart from in front of Ansche Chesed (on West End Avenue near the corner of West 100 Street) promptly at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 27th and will return to NYC on Tuesday, May 29th around 11:59 p.m.  The cost each way is $20 and round trip is $40 to be paid in full with your application. If you do not have access to a car or a guaranteed ride back to NYC, then please sign up for the bus as being stranded in Wingdale, NY is not most people’s idea of fun. There are no taxis, local buses or subways and the camp is on a dirt road miles from the nearest town.

·         Train Transportation – Metro North offers train service on its Harlem Valley Line from Grand Central Terminal to “Harlem Valley – Wingdale” a handful of times on Sundays. If notified ahead of time, we can pick up people arriving on trains between 2:00 and 5:00pm. There will be no transportation to trains leaving for New York City on Tuesday night or at any other time throughout the retreat. We strongly encourage everyone without access to a car to sign up for the charter bus. Information is available at http://www.mta.nyc.ny.us/, (212) 532-4900, or (800) METRO-INFO.

·        Arrival Time - Please plan on arriving at camp between 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27th. Another group has use of the camp before then.  The registration desk will close at 5:00 p.m.
·        Written Confirmations are required - Participants will receive a confirmation that must be presented at the bus and upon arrival at camp. A packing list and driving directions will come with your confirmation
·         Shavuot - We ask that all participants respect traditional Shavuot observance. Three daily services will be held at camp. Services will be done in the usual egalitarian Minyan Rimonim style.
·         All Food served at Camp Ramah is Kosher - Under the supervision of the mashgiach at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires, the camping arm of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
·         Help Wanted - Volunteers are needed for various tasks throughout the retreat. Positions Include: greeters, Torah readers, bus captains, Israeli dance instructors, song leaders, lecturers, entertainers, masseurs, tennis instructors, workshop leaders, etc… Make a suggestion!
