Kiddush
Chevre,
OK everyone, here's the March-August 2008 Kiddush
Rotation! Dates and names follow below, and after that
are "the rules" of how the rotation works. Please note
that an asterisk next to someone's name means that
he/she requested that particular date and will
probably not want to switch dates. This time around,
almost everyone requested particular dates, though
switches might be possible depending on each person's
situation-so you can always ask.
Also, you'll see I've scheduled two potluck kiddushes:
April 26 (7th day of Pesach) and May 24 (Memorial Day
weekend).
"P.L." = "Potluck Lunch." There are
some dates when potluck lunches are possible but not confirmed.
Check the WSM Web site and watch the announcements closer
to the date.
Thanks to all!
Trudy
Here's the list of dates and names:
March 8 -- Iris Korman and Nos Sher*
March 22 -- (P.L.) Barbara Sontz*
April 12 -- Judy Merion*
April 26 (7th day of Pesach) -- (P.L.) POTLUCK KIDDUSH
May 10 -- Rivkee Kengmana*
May 24 (Memorial Day weekend) -- POTLUCK KIDDUSH
June 14 -- Iris Korman and Nos Sher*
June 28 -- (P.L.) Amy Dulsky-Little*
July 12 -- Barbara Sontz
July 26 -- Rivkee Kengmana*
August 9 -- Trudy Balch
August 23 -- Debby and Solomon Mowshowitz*
A reminder of "the rules":
1) An asterisk appears next to the name of anyone who
requested a particular date. If you requested a particular
date and then find yourself unable to bring kiddush, try
to switch with someone whose name is NOT followed by an
asterisk. (Since presumably such a person will not want
to switch dates.)
2) Anyone (asterisk or not) who discovers he/she can't
bring kiddush on the assigned date is responsible for
(a) finding a substitute, and
(b) notifying me of the change, so I can keep track.
Ideally any changes and notifications should be completed
and sent to me by Thursday of the week you're changing.
3) If you're assigned to bring kiddush on a day when a
potluck lunch is scheduled, no need to include any "real
food" with the kiddush. Light stuff is just fine.
4) There is nothing stopping you from finding a sub "outside
the group." Spread the joy!
5) I make no promises about reminding anyone when it's
his/her turn to bring kiddush. So please mark your calendars!
6) Please note dates for potluck kiddushes. (There are
two on this rotation: the 7th day of Pesach (April 26)
and Memorial Day weekend (May 24). It's also possible
shul-wide or joint-minyan potluck kiddushes will end
up being scheduled on those dates. If all of us bring
a little something, we should be fine. And if we don't
join another minyan that week, we'll still be fine
with whatever each of us brings.
You'll no doubt note that not everyone in the chevra is
on the rotation. But those of you that I didn't assign this
time are still WELCOME to participate! You can split a kiddush
with someone, take it over, whatever!
