THE ACT FOUNDATION FOR B'NAI MITZVAH STUDENTS
All Ansche Chesed students preparing for bar or bat mitzvah this year --or
whose b'nai mitzvah fell last spring or will fall next autumn -- are invited
to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn first-hand
how charitable foundations operate. Through monthly meetings, students will
sit on a selective board and engage with the difficult questions that arise
when distributing limited funds to worthy causes. Students will also learn
about the connection of their actions to Jewish texts and v
alues. The year
will culminate with the distribution of funds to an organization selected by
the student board.
