SUMMARY:MLK Day of Service
DESCRIPTION:Ansche Chesed will join thousands of New Yorkers to participate in the annual MLK Day of Service. Get to know other AC members while working together to make a difference in the greater NYC community. \nAnsche Chesed will be participating in two service projects: \nAssemble Food Packages for Local Food Pantry\nFrom 10-11:30am\nAges 8 and up. \nOur group will join other volunteers at JCC Harlem’s food packaging project. We will create shelf-stable food packets in environmentally friendly packaging and utilizing high quality\, bulk food. The food packets created will be available at the Community Kitchen & Food Pantry’s supermarket-style pantry for clients to select and then bring home to cook. \nLocation: JCC Harlem: 318 West 118th Street \nClick here to register. \n\n\nRevitalization/Painting in the Bronx\nFrom 1-4pm\n\n\n\nWe will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s Brush With Kindness program to help revitalize the communal spaces of a low-income housing facility in the Bronx. No expertise is needed – site staff will guide us in the project. \nAges 14 and up. \nLocation: We will be working in the Bronx. Exact location will be provided by Brush With Kindness closer to the date. \nClick here to register. You’ll be asked to create an account and accept waivers. When prompted\, use the code UJA and sign up for the 1-4pm shift in the Bronx. Ansche Chesed has reserved 15 spots for volunteers.
