YOM HASHOAH COMMUNITY READING OF THE NAMES
Mon, April 24 at 1:00 am – 1:30 am
Each Year, Ansche Chesed participates with Synagogues on the Upper West Side and the JCC Manhattan in the annual commemoration of Yom HaShoah, by reading from books of names of those who perished in the Shoah.
The Reading of the Names will begin on the evening of Sunday, April 23, from 10pm and continue through the night until Monday, April 24, at 8am.
From 9am-7pm the reading continues at the JCC, in the 7th floor Beit Midrash and will conclude with a brief ceremony and Kaddish.
Our synagogue has a designated half hour slot for members to read the names, very early Monday morning, April 24, from 1-1:30am. Participants are also welcome to read their own family names.
The time for Teens and Tweens is 7-7:30am on Monday morning, April 24th.
We have always had many people from AC who come to the reading. Please notify Rita Falbel if you plan to participate.
If you can’t make the time slot for Ansche Chesed, the reading will continue at the JCC throughout the day, at 334 Amsterdam Avenue @ 76th Street, Monday, April 24, from 9am-7pm.
