SUMMARY:Rebuilding Trust and Opportunity: Arab-Jewish Partnership in Israeli High-Tech
DESCRIPTION:Please join Ansche Chesed and The Task Force on Arab Citizens of Israel for a conversation with Maisam Jaljuli\, CEO of Tsofen-Tashbik\, and Ifat Baron\, founder and CEO of itworks— leaders advancing inclusive employment in Israel’s high-tech sector. Their work to sustain high-tech as a space for Arab economic mobility and Jewish-Arab partnership in Israel is both more challenging and important under the strains of a polarized and war-strained society. As government and international funding declines and public discourse grows increasingly polarized\, what role can civil society play in rebuilding trust and ensuring inclusive growth in this sector and Israel as a whole? \nDiscussion facilitated by Liron Shoham\, CEO\, Task Force on Arab Citizens of Israel. \nRSVP here \nWalk-ins also welcome. \nAbout our Speakers:\n \nMaisam Jaljuli has served as the CEO of Tsofen-Tashbik since 2022. A social feminist and political activist\, Maisam has spent years advancing workers’ rights\, women’s rights\, and the vision of a shared and equal society for Arabs and Jews. \nPrior to joining Tsofen-Tashbik\, she served as Chairperson of the women’s organization Na’amat\, co-Chair of Sikkuy-Aufoq\, and as a board member of Itach-Maaki: Women Lawyers for Social Justice. She currently sits on the board of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel and is a leading voice in the grassroots movement Standing Together. \nMaisam is the recipient of the New Israel Fund’s Gallanter Prize for inspiring social leadership and the Walking Man Award for activism. She holds a B.A. in Criminology and Sociology and an M.A. in Educational Leadership. She lives in Tirah with her husband and their three children. \n \nIfat Baron is a social entrepreneur and the founder of itworks\, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing employment diversity in Israel’s tech sector. Drawing from her upbringing in Netanya and early experiences with economic hardship\, Ifat has dedicated her career to empowering underserved communities—including Arab citizens of Israel\, Ukrainian and Russian immigrants\, single mothers\, and injured veterans—through vocational tech training\, mentorship\, and career placement. \nIfat’s work has received international recognition\, including Hadassah’s Bernice Tannenbaum Prize and the International Alliance for Women’s World of Difference Award. Through her efforts\, thousands have secured meaningful employment\, contributing to a more inclusive workforce and a resilient\, shared society in Israel. \n\n\n\n\n
