Big Kids’ Service (children in Grade 3 through pre-bar/bat mitzvah)

This service delves into the structure and purpose of tefillot (prayers) and parshah (Torah portion). As they watch each other participate, children develop a feeling of community.

Yigdal Service (children preschool-age through Grade 2)

This service exposes children to a greater number of Shabbat tefillot (prayers) than are presented in the Mishpachah Service. Boys and girls are encouraged to help lead the prayers.

A Taste of the Zohar: Early Morning Study

Join us monthly, after morning minyan, for coffee and bagels and to learn with Rabbi Kalmanofsky. This year, we will have a taste of The Holy Zohar, the "Bible" of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). Thanks to the masterful translation by Daniel Matt, now English speakers can experience the most beautiful Jewish book ever written.

Combatants for Peace

Register here. In 2006, Israeli and Palestinian former combatants, people who had taken an active role in the conflict, laid down their weapons and established Combatants for Peace. The egalitarian, bi-national, grassroots movement was founded on the belief that the cycle of violence can only be broken when Israelis and Palestinians join forces. As a result of their work, they were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, 2017. Join us as “Combatants” tell their stories.

Kabbalat Shabbat

Each Friday evening Ansche Chesed comes together to welcome Shabbat in the chapel on the ground floor.
