Parents and children are invited to join us for an aviv / spring nature walk in Central Park led by Jewish environmental educator, farmer, and storyteller Jacob Kose and Rabbi Yael Hammerman. We’ll follow the water around the north woods and note how this holy ground has changed since we visited last in October, on Shemini Atzeret. Beginning in late 1938, nearly 10,000 unaccompanied children were sent to Great Britain from Nazi Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland as part of the "Kindertransport" movement. Most never saw their parents again.
