Rabbi Hammerman and Hazzan Hirschhorn are thrilled to welcome The Gesher Chorale, a group of talented teens from the Washington DC area, who will add their voices to our Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv services, along with their founding director, Hazzan Asa Fradkin of Beth El Congregation in Bethesda, MD. The Jewish Community of Ukraine and the Current Crisis with Dr. David E. Fishman
David E. Fishman is a Professor of History at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. He directs the Jewish Archival Survey in Ukraine, and has spent extensive time teaching and conducting research in Kyiv and L’viv. There are between 50,000 to 100,000 Jews in Ukraine today.
