Welcoming & Aware Shabbat

At Ansche Chesed, we want everyone who walks through our doors to feel welcome and safe. We are continually working with security professionals and local law enforcement to strengthen our security measures. This is a layered and ongoing approach, and not all of it is meant to be shared widely. However, just as everyone should be aware of items like fire exits and AED devices, it benefits everyone to know about the tools and protocols that are being implemented. Preparation is one more way we care for one another.

On November 7, Shabbat Chayei Sarah, our whole Ansche Chesed community will come together in the sanctuary at the end of our respective services for a special program on security and Jewish values. We will explain why we have instituted some of these new features and how to use them in case of emergency.

Following this introduction, and throughout a joint Kiddush, members of the Welcoming and Aware Team will be available to take smaller groups through the building to show the standard features on each floor (15-20 min).
