The Boy: Special Screening and Conversation Honoring Filmmaker Yahav Winner and Families of Israel’s South

Tue, January 16 at 6:00 pm

In memory of filmmaker Yahav Winner, who was killed on October 7 protecting his wife and young child, the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is hosting an evening honoring his life and work in Kibbutz Aza through film and conversation.

The event will feature Yahav’s short film The Boy, which powerfully captures the experience of living on a kibbutz on the border of Gaza, a recorded interview with his grandfather, a Holocaust survivor living in Ashkelon, and testimony of Yahav’s wife Shaylee which is part of a new project to capture testimonies of those impacted by the October 7 attack.

We will then be joined live through video by members of his family in Israel for a conversation.
