Young Professionals: Volunteer at West Side Campaign Against Hunger
AC young professionals, please join us for a meaningful evening of volunteering at WSCAH, an organization that has been providing New Yorkers with access to healthy food for 45 years. In the last year alone, WSCAH delivered meals to over 110,000 people across all five boroughs. Activities at the event will include packing healthy food, writing heartfelt cards to WSCAH customers, and getting to know other AC young professionals! Join us to celebrate Mother's Day as Knock Knock Give a Sock invites mothers and children living in local homeless shelters for brunch. Neighbors will meet neighbors as we dine together and share experiences of motherhood. Programming provided for kids up to age 12. Children’s Book Drive for PS 145
The 1,700+ books generously donated by Ansche Chesed households during the last academic year for the PS 145 Bookshelf flew off the shelves. The students of PS 145 would love more books as the new school year begins! Please bring children’s books to the Ansche Chesed lobby on Sunday, September 14th, from 11 am to 1 pm. Shelter Volunteer Orientation
AC is thrilled to partner with Broadway Community to re-open our overnight shelter, after over 5 years, to our unhoused neighbors. Each evening starting December 1, we will offer hospitality, compassion, and dignity to seven guests experiencing homelessness. Volunteers are the heart of this effort! We are collecting new and gently worn coats and jackets in labeled boxes in the AC lobby through Sunday, November 23 at 4pm. We accept coats for adults and children. We will distribute the coats in Hirsch Hall the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Sign up by Wednesday, November 19 if you would like to volunteer to sort coats, set up, or help distribute.
