Kabbalat Shabbat: A Musical Experience

Join us to welcome Shabbat with instrumental music for the last time this season. We are thrilled to welcome back our own Interim ACHS Director Matt Check on guitar, and Nir Furman on percussion, after they brought us so much joy and ruach with The Bluegrass Shabbat last week. They will join Hazzan Hirschhorn and Rabbi Kalmanofsky on this Shabbat Lech Lecha, as we continue our journey of returning to in-person services. Minyan M’at Shabbat Morning Services

Minyan M’at is an independent, traditional, egalitarian community within Ansche Chesed.  Now more than 30 years old, our group of over 150 households comes together to daven (pray), to learn, to celebrate and to sustain each other. Yigdal Service (Kindergarten through Grade 2)

This service introduces children to a variety of Shabbat tefillot (prayers). A section of the Torah is read and the week’s parsha (Torah portion) is presented through discussion, skits, and stories. Parents are welcome, but not required, to attend.

Big Kids Service (Grade 3 through B’nai Mitzvah)

This service delves into the structure, purpose and words of our Shabbat morning tefillot (prayers) and the weekly parshah (Torah portion), which we experience as community through discussion and interactive activities. Parents are welcome to drop off their kids.

Sunday Morning Minyan

Anyone who has ever visited Ansche Chesed’s morning minyan will tell you that it is something very special. Meeting in the chapel on the ground floor, the minyan brings together all segments of Ansche Chesed’s diverse community. They gather to say Kaddish for loved ones, to comfort others in mourning, to celebrate simchahs (joyous occasions) and to ground themselves before starting their day. The service is brisk and allows for a more meditative and personal approach than the more formal Shabbat service…
