Parents and children are invited to join us for a Shemini Atzeret nature walk in Central Park led by Jewish environmental educator, farmer, and storyteller Jacob Kose. We’ll follow the water around the north woods and discuss how Shemini Atzeret, the last day of Sukkot, is rooted in nature’s ancient rhythms. RSVP’s requested, walk-ins welcome.

“Meditation for Peace” Family Shabbat Service (Ages 5-10 and Families)
Geared at Kids ages 5-10 and their Families In these challenging times, what can we do to bring Shalom into the home and calm into our day? Sheila Lewis, AC member and meditation teacher, will share meditation, simple techniques, and activities tailored for age and interest level, that are easy to do, build resilience, and redirect stress. Stretch, move, imagine and relax as you embrace Shabbat.

Yoga Tefillah for Young Families, with Ellen Braitman
Geared at kids ages 5-10 and their families Exhale and stretch this Shabbat during Yoga Tefilah for Young Families with longtime AC member Ellen Braitman and Rabbi Yael. Ellen got her yoga teaching certification during the pandemic so she could share her love of yoga with others - like us! Move, breath and relax as you embrace Shabbat Shal-ommm. At Kabbalat Shabbat services, Ansche Chesed will welcome a delegation from the Hostage Families Forum whose loved ones were kidnapped on October 7, who are working to #BringThemHomeNow.
