Talmud Study with Rabbi Kalmanofsky

This year we will study material from the first chapters of Bava Batra (in the Artscroll Talmud available at West Side Judaica or online) about the duties that neighbors have regarding each other's property. These sections will have interesting implications for economic competition, environmental safeguards and communal welfare in the modern age.

A celebratory concert of Jewish music, featuring vocal and instrumental compositions of Ravel, Copland, Bloch, Gershwin, and more! Performed by the talented musicians from within the Ansche Chesed community, including, among others, James Besser, piano; David Steinberg, violin; Naomi Katz Cohen, soprano; Mike Cohen, woodwinds; Hazzan Natasha Hirschhorn; and the Shirei Chesed Community Chorus. The concert will inaugurate a generous gift of piano to Ansche Chesed from James Besser. Followed by a wine and cheese reception.

A Taste of the Zohar: Early Morning Study

Join us monthly, after morning minyan, for coffee and bagels and to learn with Rabbi Kalmanofsky. This year, we will have a taste of The Holy Zohar, the "Bible" of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). Keeping Up With The Kinder: Judaism Crash Course

Join Rabbi Yael for a “Judaism Crash Course” geared at parents who would like to strengthen their own Jewish knowledge, skills and comfort level. Open to individuals of any religious background. We will explore the Jewish holiday cycle and synagogue building, navigate through the Siddur (prayer book) and Chumash (Bible), and work together to connect with what our kids are learning in their Jewish education.
